Membership
Membership
Our club members range in age from teens to 70+, and many members are with us for the long-term while others return after a break for career, travel or family. Riding and non-riding events are held here several times a year and everyone is encouraged to come along and have some fun.
All members pay an annual membership subscription which is reviewed at our Annual General Meeting each August. For the initial year of membership, there is also a one-off administration and activities levy.
Senior members may join their children as Junior members (under 17 at July 1st) alongside their own membership but NSRC is predominantly an adult riding club. Junior members must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The Club accepts applications for both grazing and non-grazing members and these are approved at our monthly committee meetings.

For membership enquiries please complete a Membership Application Form(.pdf) scan and email to sarahmulvaney@hotmail.com or post to The Secretary, 109 Awanohi Road, RD 2 Albany, 0792
Once your application has been received and processed, you will be contacted by our Club Secretary and invited to an introductory session to learn more about the Club, its facilities, operational guidelines and bylaws. The NSRC has rules and bylaws to keep everyone safe. These rules must be adhered to or your membership may be revoked. All members must consider the impact of their actions on other members and their horses. Being such a large property you can’t always do the things you may do at home.
If you are a grazing member you will be introduced to our new members officer and your herd coordinator who will help you and your horse settle into the Club environment. If you are a non grazing member you may also be offered a mentor if you require this. Please note your application could take up to 6 weeks to process.
Worming
Three times per year, all grazing horses must be presented for worming which is facilitated by Vets North - Winter worming is compulsory but FEC is encouraged for Spring & Summer. If the FEC count is 500 or less, your horse does not require treatment. You will be notified of the worming dates well in advance. Treatment options and associated costs will be provided in the worming notice. If time allows, the vet/vet technician will also be available for blood-work and vaccinations, this can be organised through our worming coordinator.
Working Bees
Two or three times a year, working bees are held where members are required to contribute a couple of hours towards keeping the Club facilities well maintained.
Grazing
If you would like to become a grazing member, you first need to be a Full Financial member of the Club in order to join our “waiting list” which can vary from a few weeks, up to 1-2 years depending on demand and herd numbers. New grazing horses typically come onto the Club during the spring/summer months when ground/grass conditions are at their most suitable for introducing horses to their herd.
